The Hirer and/or authorised driver must have a full and valid driving license for a minimum of 2 years and that the license must bear no current endorsements during the last two years. A driving license from the country of residence or an International Driver’s Permit will be acceptable, provided valid as above.
In order to hire a vehicle, the driver must be 23 years of age and above. The driver must also be in possession of other means of identification such as a the National ID or passport other than a driver’s license. A copy of your Identification Card or passport, driving license, full contact details and a full advance payment for the period of hire will be required before or on collection of vehicle. Additional cash deposit may be required under certain special circumstances.
A compulsory daily insurance charge is payable by the hirer. All our vehicles are comprehensively insured but in all cases, the hirer is responsible for repairs arising from damage caused by carelessness.
Self drive cars are hired subject to the company’s standard form of agreement not withstanding the above conditions the company reserves the right to refuse a hirer at anytime without assigning any reason.
Reservations and bookings shall be done in advance by paying the full amount and subject to client having the necessary documentaion..
JD Car Hire shall deduct 75% of total cost as cancellation fee if the hirer cancels the booking 7 days prior to arrival, 50% of the total cost if 8 to 14 days before arrival and 25% if 15 to 21 days prior to arrival.
The vehicles must be locked when unattended. The vehicle must not be parked in public area for long periods. The hirer is responsible for the security of the vehicle.
The hirer’s liability for theft of the vehicle is automatically covered subject to the terms and conditions of the car hire contract.
The hirer’s liability for damage to the vehicle is automatically covered subject to the terms and conditions of the car hire contract. Damage to tyres, windscreen and underneath of the vehicle is not covered.
Excess waiver is available for certain vehicles. This insurance cover protects the hirer/owner of having to pay any excess fees brought about by damage and/or loss to the vehicle.
Full payment for the period of hire based on estimate plus a refundable deposit (To be advised on choice of vehicle). The hirer must be in possession of proper means of identification other than his / her driving licence. Payments are to be made via Mpesa and by Bank Transfer only..
All vehicles are supplied with full tank of fuel at the start of the hire. Customer expected to return the vehicle with full tank or be charged for missing fuel at the end of the rental at the locally determined price.
The hirer shall return the Motor Vehicle on the due date and time as agreed at the time of hire. The vehicle will be inspected for damages in the presence of the client before off the return. The company reserves the right to repossess the vehicle or report it stolen should it not be returned by the due date and time and NO information given by the hirer.
We reserve the right to decline any hire without giving a reason.
Chauffeur services will incur a charge per day payable to the office directly. The customer will need to inform the office in advance if they need this service.
Customers will be asked to sign a Rental Agreement when collecting the vehicle
